Yesterday Pat Reynders (Sunrise Pta), Marilyn Traugott and myself (Centurion) spent about 4 1/2 hours at the annual family health days campaign in Mamelodi – Phololong B

We registered around 230 people, majority very young kids. It was mayhem when the kids of an entire creche arrived, about 45 of them: lots of screaming and crying, very high noise levels but eventually things proceeded smoothly and more quietly. It was VERY hot but luckily there was a constant gusty breeze blowing.

We had some welcome help from 3 little youngsters who were so keen to actually be involved. Various mobile stations were set up for family planning advice, TB and HIV testing, blood pressure, blood sugar etc… It was overall an interesting and good experience which ended in me and Marilyn giving 7 young boys a 100m lift in my bakkie!!! Still don’t know how they all fitted in!
